Physician Assistant-Sports

Our practice is currently looking for a Full Time Certified Physician Assistant to join our Sports subspecialty.


OPA is the region’s premier provider of treatment and surgery related to sports injuries and offer medical care for arms, including shoulders, elbows and wrists; legs, including hips, knees, and ankles; and sports-related injuries. We are proud to be the team physicians for Seattle’s professional sports teams, including the Mariners, Seahawks and Storm.

The Physician Assistant (PA-C) will be assisting the aligned physician in all capacities of patient care, with an emphasis in sports medicine and a particular interest in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle; anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic rotator cuff and labral repair of the shoulder; ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction of the elbow (Tommy John surgery); and Platelet Rich Plasma injections.
This will include patient care in the clinic, the operating room and on the hospital units. Our successful candidate will provide direct clinical, surgical and administrative support to the physician, while treating our patients with respect and an emphasis on high-quality orthopedic care.

This position requires documented completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and a current Washington State Physician Assistant license. Candidates must have at minimum 1-2 years of general orthopedic experience, with preference given to those with sports orthopedics experience—both surgical and clinical. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, hard working, and have a passion for sports focused orthopedic care. Candidates must also have an ability to successfully interact with all levels of an organization. Those with ATC backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Front Office Receptionist

Orthopedic Physician Associates, a premiere orthopedic practice minutes from downtown Seattle, is looking for a qualified individual to join our Front Office as a Medical Receptionist.

The role of the Front Office Receptionist is to act as a liaison employee for patient appointments, accommodation and access to the physician. This includes booking appointments, greeting patients, processing necessary information to support that activity and triaging with physicians and medical assistants on acute scheduling problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Schedule appointments, conferences, and attorney depositions via telephone and in person
• Check in/register patients, verify information on established patients, and update patient information in computer
• Prepare charts daily
• Collect co-pays
• Prepare physician day sheets, listing surgeries, meetings, and all other activities
• Facilitate flow of patients by coordinating with medical assistants
Requirements:
• High School education
• 1-2 years experience on a computer scheduling module, medical setting preferred
• Nextgen knowledge strongly preferred
• Problem solving skills and an ability to multi-task
• Skill in using a computer
• Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physician and staff
• Skill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete
• Understanding of the need for and evidence of consistent respect for confidentiality

Physician Assistant-Joints

Our practice is currently looking for a full time Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Joint Replacement subspecialty group. OPA has the area’s most experienced surgeons who specialize in Joint Replacement Surgery, providing state-of-the-art care at Swedish Orthopedic Institute and Seattle Surgery Center.


The PA-C will be partnering with a high-volume surgeon, specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery, in all aspects of patient care. This will include providing care in the outpatient clinic, the operating room, and the inpatient units at Swedish Orthopedic Institute. Our successful candidate will provide direct clinical, surgical, and administrative support to the physician while treating our patients with respect and an emphasis on high-quality orthopedic care. The PA-C will use an electronic medical record system, and have an opportunity to attend regular educational conferences.


This position requires documented completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and a current Washington State Physician Assistant license. Preference will be given to candidates with orthopedic surgery experience. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, hard working, and have a passion for adult reconstruction surgery. Accounts Receivable Specialist

The primary role of the Accounts Receivable Specialist is to complete timely insurance follow-up, and to retrieve payment, on unpaid claims. This includes researching, auditing, rebilling, and collection of accounts.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accounts receivable follow up; includes written and verbal correspondence with patients and insurers
• Research, audit, and investigate proper payment of claims and patient accounts; includes pulling batches and explanation of benefits (EOB) and knowledge of insurance contracts
• Prepare accounts for outside collection agencies
• Make adjustments to patient accounts; rebill accounts
• Updating of patient insurance information, including memo entry for billing documentation
• Meet with physicians to review applicable patient accounts
• Customer service - answer billing inquiries from patients and/or healthcare providers; make outgoing calls to insurance companies and patients


Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years medical billing experience required; orthopedic experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs
• Problem solving skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of CPT and ICD9 coding
• Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physician and staff
• Skill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
