We are pleased to begin our search for an EHR Manager for our distinguished specialty group.
Initially, you will oversee our paper-based medical records department. In this role, you will supervise existing staff, document work flows and develop an implementation plan for conversion to an electronic medical record. Your role will include managing the implementation plan with our clinical and technology partners; managing interfaces with our practice management software, PACS and other clinical systems; and working with our clinical teams to develop work flows, templates, pick-lists, etcetera. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating initial and ongoing training needs. The role as it pertains to Medical Records will be helping the staff transition from a paper-based system to an electronic system including scanning and indexing. Must be able to nurture talent and help an organization culturally move from paper to electronic.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a clinical background; strong project management experience to include planning, coordination, direction and evaluation of complex projects; excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate user and technical needs; and the ability to work well with physicians and other health care professionals with a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Previous experience implementing an electronic health record and experience in an ambulatory care setting is highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities for Specialist:

• Research, audit, and investigate proper payment of claims and patient accounts
• Prepare accounts for outside collection agencies
• Make adjustments to and rebill patient accounts
• Updating of patient insurance information, including memo entry for billing documentation

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years medical billing experience required; orthopedic experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs
• Problem solving skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT and ICD9 coding
Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physicians and staff
