I have had right knee pain for more than 25 years, starting with a mild medial meniscus tear.  I had prolotherapy many times that relieved the pain.  I was a long distance runner; I ran 21 marathons.  Finally I had a stem-cell procedure in 2018 that never really relieved the pain.  Everyone kept asking me why I didn’t have knee replacement surgery.  Despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that I have been an RN for 40 years,  I was terrified to have the surgery – I knew it was major surgery and understood what it entailed.  However, the pain kept getting worse, so I had heard Dr. Toomey’s name and I found him on the internet.  He described what he would do and that he could make my leg straight.  (It had gotten “bowed out” just like my Mom’s right knee before she had her knee replacement at age 84.)  I felt much better after meeting with Dr. Toomey, had my surgery July 21st, was walking quite well without even a cane after one month.  The first few days were hard, but not as bad as expected because of the nerve blocker which I believe is a fairly new procedure.  So, thank you Dr. Toomey, I am walking without pain and with a straight leg. Thank  you!!!
