Dr. Lee is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in anterior total hip replacements as well as knee replacements. He also has expertise in revision surgeries associated with total joint replacements.

Practice Philosophy: Dr. Lee finds it a privilege to be in a position to help others return to their active lifestyles and improve their quality of life. As a physician, he lives by the simple tenet, “treat others as one would like to be treated.”

Originally from the Seattle area, Dr. Lee practiced medicine in Ohio before moving home to Washington with his wife and children to join Orthopedic Physician Associates. Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with his family. He appreciates living in the Northwest and the outdoor lifestyle it offers.

Dr. Lee specializes in adult joint reconstruction and arthritis surgery, including revision joint arthroplasty. He also specializes in anterior total hip replacements.

I am so very pleased with every part of my care in regards to my total knee replacement in January 2017. I believe Dr. Frederick Lee is a genius in his surgical expertise relating to joint replacement. I am recommending him to people I meet who are now needing or will be facing the same surgery in the future. At 6 weeks post surgery I am and have been pain free for several weeks, and I haven't had to take any pain meds since about 1 week post surgery. I only have praise for my care throughout pre-op, surgery, hospital, and post-op care. I'm grateful and thankful to be where I am in the recovery process.

From the first time I met with Dr. Lee I have felt extremely confident in him and his plan for my care. I requested an appointment for a knee replacement evaluation back in August of 2010. I had a very tight schedule since I would be in the Seattle area for only 4-5 weeks. Luckily Dr. Lee was new to OPA and I got an appointment immediately. I had my surgery and everything went perfect. I really like Dr. Lee. He was very informative, cordial, and gives you an honest appraisal. He is very caring and has great bedside manners. The surgical staff was wonderful. I do not think my care could have been much better. Anthony was great too. He is a really nice guy. I am actually looking forward to my follow-up visit this summer. Thanks again!

Dr. Lee came into my life and he lifted [my spirits]. I am so grateful for him. He did a revision [on my knee]. My life changed 100%. I can now cook and keep house. I have a life now! Facing hip replacement surgery- two of them, was probably the most difficult "voluntary" choice I have made in my life. After years of resistance and postponement, I cam so incredibly grateful that I found my way to Dr. Frederick Lee at OPA Ortho. Not only was his care and concern for my well-being palpable from start to finish, over months of introductions, the same quality of care and integrity of practice was consistent from his physician assistant, Della Hurt, and the entire staff at SOI. Today marks the 43rd day (6 weeks and 1 day, but who’s counting?) since Dr. Lee replaced both of my knees. I went to the physical therapist here in Juneau yesterday and I am thrilled to report I have 133 degrees of flexion in my right knee, and 130 degrees of flexion in my left knee. I also have been able to “zero” out both of my knees for at least the past two weeks, I am continuing therapy on my own here in Juneau and expect even better results over more time. I still have a bit of soreness in both legs but it is manageable now, and even without pain meds. I can stand and walk pain free and now will concentrate on building strength again. I just want you to know how thankful I am for the good results that I have gotten, and so soon too. Really I am humbled by the skill and professionalism I was shown by all of the staff at OPA, and promise to come see you folks after the holidays with a big smile on my face - attributable to all of you!
