End of Grace Period for UHC HMO Plans

Important Update Effective May 1 – End of Grace Period for UHC HMO Plans

Orthopedic Physician Associates is issuing an important reminder to patients regarding upcoming insurance changes taking effect on May 1, 2026.

As of this date, the previously extended grace period for UnitedHealthcare (UHC) HMO plans will officially end. Patients who have been utilizing services under this temporary accommodation should be aware that coverage terms and access may change, and services may no longer be considered in-network unless alternative arrangements are in place.

We want to ensure our patients are fully informed and prepared ahead of this transition. Our priority is to minimize disruption to care and help patients understand their options moving forward.

What Patients Should Do:

  • Review current insurance coverage and confirm plan details
  • Contact UnitedHealthcare directly to understand network status and benefits
  • Reach out to our office to discuss continuity of care options
  • Explore alternative plans if necessary during applicable enrollment periods

Our team remains committed to supporting patients through this transition and will work closely with individuals to navigate any changes in coverage.
