Dr. Auld’s practice includes sports medicine orthopedics and surgery for problems with the shoulders and the knees. His goal is to provide the care and expertise needed to improve or restore his patients’ quality of life. He has been the head team physician and is currently an orthopedic consultant for the Seattle Seahawks. He is also an orthopedic consultant for the Seattle Mariners. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially sports, both professional and amateur. He also is deeply involved in environmental causes, community service and education.

I had an ACL allograft and mensiectomy in Jan 2025. My experience of Dr Auld was this, he spent more of my appointment times telling me about his personal life ranging from topics such as where he likes to ski to how he thinks his daughters’ husbands are bad partners to giving me advice to transition from my job in psych nursing to social work 🤨For all but one of the visits, never had me sit on an exam table for an assessment. Instead draped my leg over his. The first visit I had, he just rolled over and began touching me without any explanation. Conducted all of our visits in my personal space. A few times I told him I had coffee breath so that he would back up. I was uncomfortable every time I had a visit, I eventually stopped going to follow up. Never fully explained what an allograft was or even discussed the CPM machine I would need after surgery. When I asked questions, I never felt like I got a clear answer. I had a prolonged recovery and struggled to regain my range of motion. When I reached out with questions about my progress I was given medical advice by an MA. Why did I continue seeing this provider? I wanted the surgery done and could not delay it any longer. Once you have the surgery, no other provider will see you for 90 days. I found a new provider as soon as I could. My advice is to go one floor down to Swedish ortho and see Dr David Belfie.

Dr. Auld provided an exceptional experience with my knee replacement surgery. He put me at ease throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend Dr Auld to anyone looking for orthopedic surgery.

I think he is amazing! I highly recommend him. He's a brilliant surgeon with excellent bedside manurism, he listens to the patient and you leave his office feeling really good because you know you got the best of the best!!! Thank you Dr Auld! You are the best!!!

Dr Auld has been my knee doctor for 15-20 years & he’s been great. He understands what makes me tick & tailors his advice to that. He’s never in a hurry & takes his time. Highly recommend him to anyone.
