Austin Nguyen, DO

Dr. Austin Nguyen is a board certified primary care sports medicine physician who specializes in non-operative sports medicine, injury prevention, and advanced ultrasound-guided procedures. As a former professional dancer he is dedicated to advancing injury prevention, optimizing performance and rehabilitation, and providing equitable care for active individuals. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at UTHealth Houston in Houston, TX where he had the privilege of serving as a team physician for elite sports including the Houston Dynamos, Houston Dash, University of Houston, and professional mixed martial arts. His clinical interests include sports-related concussion evaluation and management, musculoskeletal injuries, exercise prescription, endurance sports, performing arts medicine, and ultrasound-guided procedures. He enjoys working with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that support a safe return to sports, exercise, work, and other activities.

Born the first in his family in the United States, he grew up with limited access to healthcare—an experience that shaped his mission to provide high-quality care to underserved populations. He aspires to serve his community, support local athletes and artists, and one day care for athletes on the Olympic stage. Outside of sports, he enjoys being in the outdoors with his wife, fishing, and dabbling in other hobbies.
