OPA Patient Conquers Seattle’s Big Climb Less Than One Year After Hip Replacement

Dr Matsen Ko placed 13th woman in the “Big Climb” (Columbia Tower Climb, 69 stories, 1311 steps, 788 elevation) but her real highlight was seeing her patient after the climb.

Big CLimb 31

Patient E.F. was able to do the climb less than a year after her total hip. In her words, “I keep thinking back to a year ago when I was awaiting a new hip. Walking even a small distance was impossible without a cane and generous ibuprofen medication. Now, less than a year later my old team, the Rodent Mavens, is once again participating in the Big Climb. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to get my life back, especially when other doctors said I would probably never be able to do the Big Climb again. Your “can do” attitude is so refreshing. I have recommended you to everyone I know facing hip surgery.”

Getting patients back to doing the activities that they love most through an individualized treatment plan is our goal. Congrats E.F.!
